Do Not Force Your Crested Gecko To Swim!
Just like the heading says, DO NOT FORCE YOUR CRESTED GECKO TO SWIM!! There are many bad things you would have to face, if you force it to swim, even death.
The first reason I’d like to speak on why you should not force your pet to is stress. Yes, when a crested gecko is forced to swim, it gets stressed. This is mostly because crested geckos prefer not to swim like I said before. They would only decide to swim if their life depended on it. So forcing it would only make it stressed, and stress wouldn’t be that healthy for your pet.
Another thing that happens when people force their pet crested geckos’ to swim is accidental drowning. Like I mentioned before, crested geckos cannot breathe underwater. So forcing it to swim might make it drown, and you know the rest. So why take the risk?
Can Crested Geckos Walk On Water?
People usually see the way crested geckos swim as walking. As I said, that is because they both swim and walk in similar ways. It might also be because they tend to be above water to prevent drowning. So yes, in a way we could say that crested geckos can walk on water.
Who would want to force their loved pet into doing something they don’t like which could even cause its own life, right? So, let that animal be. You wouldn’t need to teach it to swim, it knows basic swimming techniques and would know how to swim away in case of emergency or danger. So do not force it!
However, if you are wondering about this question with the idea of buying a water-aided design or something for your pet. You could always use a not-so-deep thing. This way, your pet wouldn’t drown even if it gets into the water.
