The first reason I’d like to speak on why you should not force your pet to is stress. Yes, when a crested gecko is forced to swim, it gets stressed. This is mostly because crested geckos prefer not to swim like I said before. They would only decide to swim if their life depended on it. So forcing it would only make it stressed, and stress wouldn’t be that healthy for your pet.

Another thing that happens when people force their pet crested geckos’ to swim is accidental drowning. Like I mentioned before, crested geckos cannot breathe underwater. So forcing it to swim might make it drown, and you know the rest. So why take the risk?

People usually see the way crested geckos swim as walking. As I said, that is because they both swim and walk in similar ways. It might also be because they tend to be above water to prevent drowning. So yes, in a way we could say that crested geckos can walk on water.
